New 270cc SRT-4 Injectors Arrived for 420a Turbo Talon





The new injectors came by Fedex. I was really suprised that they arent that big. Not really much bigger in outside diameter at all. These new 270cc injectors were literally half the size of the 550cc injectors that originally came with the kit that I recieved and later sold. The 270cc number seems small but that is also flowing at 55 psi. The FMU can raise fuel pressure to 90 psi to compensate for Boost putting the potential fuel to around 600cc per injector. Thats much more than I really need for 250 hp Goal that I am working for this month. I still need to install the injectors and the Candy red intake as well. I am also itching to get the Candy red calipers on under the wheels. I bet they will look great! I am still working on getting the Turbo Heat shield on, It must be trimmed to fit over the Tial wastegate, I can't continue any of the sub projects until the car is back from paint. I been pretty bummed the last three weeks waiting for it to get some new clothes.

Here is the Turbo, I am investigating the oil film and checking if this kind of thing is normal. I will be capping off the Boost signal nipple soon as I will be getting the boost signal from the manifold in the future.

Thanks to my Fiance Jessie she purchased me a " get happy" gift that came in Feb 13 " also Valintines Day! " I was really thinking that somone tried to rip her off when all a sudden it shows up. Eagle Talon DSM Body Work Begins, Custom Paint Soon , Cell Phone Picture Teaser!


This is a cell phone picture teaser. I did take plenty of pictures to be posted on the Paint section of the blog but I have not had a chance to download them yet as we stopped by and watched this on valintines day for 2 hours after dinner. Here Chad starts looking the car over for visual imperfections in the car body surface. Just as in fiberglass , the more perfect the surface you paint the better the results! He used a sharpie to Mark out the various areas that needed work. I thought my body was pretty good and another paint shop told me it was, but I had around 20 dents scattered across the sides in the form of door dings and two dents in the stock hood, three dents in the rear left Fender from Jessies neighbor backing into my car.

This is a new fender on this Drivers side of our Eagle Talon DSM. Turns out new does not mean perfect. There were low spots that more or less are dents that occurred in the manufacturing process at the factory or UPS dropped them. No matter they are small enough to level with body filler. The fender was takin all the way down to the metal because rain had already started to rust the surface.
Its Valitines day so she wasn't going to sit and be bored. She took pictures at random, I would say I over document at times, but hey we can always delete pictures right? She looked Beautiful FYI

Eagle Talon Badge Removal-
The Rubber logo was in good condition but may not look as good after being painted over, then primer, then sealed then Painted agian. I made descided to get rid of the logo and paint under it. I still believe they are available new as Stick-ons with double sided tape. if not it will encourage me to made the custom 5 1/2" one that I have been wanting to.. the Logo that was removed is 7 1/4 inches wide at the top.

It came out very smooth looking, it doesn' even have scratches from the removal process. Very Clean.. Heck I could leave it like that :P


End of the day- At the end of the day there were only three dents left to fix that I noticed, One of those was the dent from the neighbor that hit the car. Primer is scattered about the car now. I have primer on every panel except the passenger side fender, rear bumper and from bumper right now. Okay thats the end of the Teaser!. The car still has to be scuffed all over and then sprayed with sealer. The bumper , hood , doors and hatch will be removed so that the door jams, trunk jams and crevices will be matching. Even the inside of the hood will be painted to match. Theres much prepwork to be done before the Base coat is sprayed next friday then the Clear will be sprayed saturday. ( since mine is under the table) Of course never count on things going to schedule so I am keeping my fingers crossed for Sunday next weeks for the car paint being DONE . Thanks Everyone !

Air Fuel Meter Shootout!, Battle of the Wideband O2 Sensors


Air Fuel Meter Shootout to really compare the Air fuel Meters and Wideband O2 sensors of different brands to help you choose what is best for you. Take in mind that all of these Sensors are intended to perform better than Oem regardless of how they compare to each other. The NGK AFX Meter had the lowet accuraccy and Good Response. At 249 dollars it is the budget deal. Innovate Had the fastest reastion times and was + / - .10 which was 10 times the average accuracy of the NGK Meter. According to this charge of a comparison for the meters running Side by side on the same engine was that Innovate XD-16 Kit , AEM all-in-one Guage and Fast Air/ Fuel Meter werethe Best Buys. The Prices are middle of the road between $399 - $466 Yet yeided some of the best reastion times and between .10-.50 accuracy. Any of these would be great to tune with, Just make sure that you gan use them with the computer that you have. OEM computers have their limitations and Somtimes that means you are limited to a slower O2 Sensor. The NGK for example is Analog Compatible meaning it has an output to crimp directly to the sensor input for your OEM computer. Making it Compatible with your OEM computer. Plx M300 is good for OEM replacement for a little better tuning.

Update, Injectors are shipped and on the way! 420a Eclipse, 420a Eagle Talon Accel Injectors

420a Eclipse / 420a Eagle talon Injectors have been ordered and will be here tommorow! Yay I am very excited as this will allow me to run the full 8-9 pounds of boost my Turbo Setup was meant for. I must Install the New Intake Manifold , These new injectors, and the FMU Recalibration kit that corrects the fuel pressure. The car will then idle at 45 psi instead of 55 PSI Fuel pressure. It will be much less stress on the fuel system and fress injectors. I have a Apexi Safc II I could run but we will see, as I am already planning on getting the AFX Wide band 02 for better Air Fuel Ratio!

Diamond Flake additive for Custom Paint in Reducer to show Sparkle

A little Diamond goes a Long way


Seen here Chad just came back from the AutoColor , PPG Painters School where he was shown how to use the newest and best new paint additives. One of these paint additives was Diamond Prism Additive. One half an ounce will coat a car. The purpose is to add color sheen to the paint of the car that is never the same twice as the colors are created as light passed through the microscopic prisms. As we know from middle school Prisms can refract light of any color if white light passes through them. Uv light is a kind of white light. Chad couldn't wait to show me the additive that he brought back from the School. Since the additive makes a normal Silver base has sparkles of muti color latitude you will never see this on a OEM color anytime soon..... We think.
Here is the additive, Take in mind this is enough to paint the whole car with the additive. These diamonds are pretty exspensive as this solution is $81 per ounce. This is my camera Flash on the solution from about 4 inches away.
These diamonds react much like the Metallic we are already painting the car in but in a rainbow of color, I am unsure of how this would look mixed into the W26 paint solution we came up with and I am even nervous it will some out "frilly" Chad is really excited about this additive so well seif I can muster the intestinal fortitude to see it through and Hope all is well. I may ask Chad to spray a 6 in card with the solution before I say okay to the additive. I may say no at the last minute to this additive out of the concern that it may not be recreatable, In that instance I was to have an accident the paint would not be matchable and the whole car would need to be repainted.

I have found that I am in need on a O2 sensor that is worth somthing as the sensitivity of tuning is much greater with the 420a Turbo charged motor has there are less factors to work with. We already don't have a map sensor that reads boost so All we can do is tune the fuel as close as possible and let a Good )2 sensor adjust the rest. This is intended for Mitsubishi Eclipse and Eagle Talon DSM Turbo cars out there looking for a good tuning alternative. I believe I will use this one myself to maintain a stoich fue mixture.

Tune Up Planned for 420a Turbo Microsoft Car , to fix Over rich fuel mixture

Microsoft Turbo Talon Needs a Tune up

Well my car has been acting up lately. It does not seem like its truely a new problem. The engine has had an issue of slightly running rich for as long as I can remember. It fouls the plugs out in a hurry now. I think there is somthing wronge. Maybe a 02 sensor, maybe somthing else? I am going to take it to a shop to investigate what is the culprit as its been too cold and wet to try and figure things out myself. Here is the Instructions for the Hahn Install. These are the old version on the instructions. As you can see it offers alot of adjustability. The car has been acting like its ignition is misfiring or somthing and when idling it smells strongly from unburnt fuel in the exhuast. It can cruise at 2500 rpm but then after maybe a minute of steady cruising it starts to bog down like its being flooded. The symptoms get worse and worse then when I park the car and come back a hour later it runs much better. Its almost like spraying carb cleaner in a running engine. I tried changing the plugs, the plugs were very black and coroded looking. Soon as i installed the new plugs and spark plug wires, the car ran super great!! It only took a couple day though before its already fouled these plugs out agian.


Candy Red Intake Perfectly Clean, inside and out. I may port the flasking ( the rough bumps and mold marks from manufacturing cast Aluminum) out , but only a mild port, no Diameter exspansion of intake runner. On the right is the top intake plenum and left is the lower intake runners with injector holes.

I am going to take it to a Shop to be fixed and ,while they are at it, install a Apex- Safc II Fuel computer, maybe a o2 sensor ( I have a spare), and whatever part needs to be replaced to fix the check engine light so I pass emisions testing in the next 4-5 months when its time to register agian. Oh an yes the chek engine light is on too.

I have a Apexi Safc II to be installed I have been waiting on the injectors. Safc allows you to adjust the injector pulse to accomodate the air flow "curve" from turbo charging.

I may have In-Tune of Cleveland 423-336-5850 do the Install of the Apex unit, injectors, Clean new intake manifold and Dyno tune. I spoke to Scott and ee says he could do it all together, install the manifold + injectors together then install the Apex computer and use the Apex computer to Tune the Microsoft Talon on a Mustang Dyno for $350

Accel 34 Lb Injectors ordered from Hahn racecraft for 420a Talon / 420a Eclipse


Okay I have Accel Injectors for my 420a coming and will be here basically in a week. They are 270cc injectors I believe. Which is enough to support around 320 hp or better if I remember right. They are the set that comes with the Stage 2 Hahn Turbo kit for 420a. Of course I don't have a Hahn Kit but it takes alot of gueswork out of finding the best injectors to use for daily driving when I can just buy a set of four at $167, ships on friday Feb 8 08 to my house.

Everyone wonders were the Idea for the Xbox 360 Arcade came from. Well its not that new really. The Dreamcast business is still going pretty well and for good reason. The 400mhz Hitachi processor in the Dreamcast is reliable and hackable. The Console actually already had microsofts finger in it!. If you notice on a Dreamcast the bottom right hand corner had a Windows Ce Logo on it. Yes Thats Right!, Its a windows lisenced product and the programs run in a Windows CE shell. The unit has web browsing capabilites and can use an external hardrive through USB. However Microsoft cant very well let a Windows device out there reign supreme right! The dreamcast was a test egg for the xbox. When everyone started complaining about costs they did the same thing they did for Dreamcast! Release some arcade games to keep poeples thumbs moving till their next paycheck when they could afford games and other controllers, or better yet a Memory unit. So the marketing scheme was the same as many dreamcast games required you to have the VMU ( Visual Memory Unit) which cost 60 dollars when it came out. So acrcade " no save data" games kept gamers happy with their " budget" buy till they could afford the good stuff! Cool thing is microsolft actually offered the 256mb memory card WITH the arcade unit to keep up with high scores and save games but not have access to games that must have a software patch downloaded. You must have a hard drive and xbox live to download software emulators to make the Xbox 360 play any original xbox titles and some new ones. Hence there really is a relationship between the Microsoft Xbox 360 Talon and Sega Dreamcast Eclipse!
