Gunmetal Powdercoated peddles finished 4g63 Eclipse, 420a Eagle Talon Powder coating Peddles

These are the Peddles that I recieved for christmas that I just recieved back from Jeff for powder coating. They were a chromed finish but chrome really did not look right as it just made the peddles so gawdy you didn't want to look at them when held agianst the rest of the interior.

The peddles were takin apart by jessie and I shipped them out a couple weeks ago to my powder coater and they came out great. No imperfections that I noticed. Too bad its somthing I put my feet on. These are predator style tribal peddles for Manual transmission cars. They fit Mitsubishi, Honda, Ford, Saturn, and Nissan. I cant wait to install them but they will wait till I paint the interior and maybe fix my seats issue.

How to wash a car by hand , Paint Care and maintenence

How to Wash a car by hand

I enjoy washing my car. It's a no-brainer activity that takes my mind off death and taxes, it gets me off the sofa, and the kids like to help.
1.Park the car out of direct sunlight. This prevents premature drying, which can leave splotches on the paint.
2.Set everything you will need near the car.
3.Fill a bucket with water and add car wash soap in the quantity directed on its bottle.
4.Fill another bucket with plain water
5.Hose off the car to loosen the dirt. Don't use a strong jet, as this can rub grit over the paint and scratch it
6.Soak a large sponge in the soapy water, being certain to wash out any dirt in it, and begin
applying it to the car
7.Wash the car section by section, beginning with the front and moving backwards
8.When the sponge becomes dirty, rinse it in the bucket with plain water. This should be done at least once per painted panel
9.After one section is washed, rinse it with the hose before moving on. You don't want the soap to dry on the paint and leave a dull haze

10.As you progess, keep the entire car wet, as this will prevent droplets from drying on the paint and leaving water-spots. You want to be able to dry the car with towels before it air-dries.
11.Scrub the dirtiest parts of the car last (the rear, the lower body, the wheels). Use a long, skinny wheel-brush for cleaning the openings of the wheels. Use steel-wool soap-pads on the tires, one or two per wheel; they get filthy. It's also a good idea to use a seperate sponge for the bottom 6" or so of the car's body, as this gets especially gritty.
12.Dry the vehicle with fresh towels.
13.If bug or tar or sap residue remain, remove it using the procedure to: [Remove Bugs, Tar, and Sap from Your Car].
14.After washing the car, its paint can be waxed and it's tires dressed with a product that makes them look like new.
.Warnings for basic car TIPS:
Don't use dish-soap to wash your car. It'll strip off the wax and dry out Plastic parts and rubber ( rubber has oil in it and dishsoap removes it)
Make sure you start from the top of the car and work your way to the bottom, cleaner to dirtier
( if you dont you could get grim on the rag and scratch the paint).
Polymer Products ( turtle wax clear)
Wax (or one of the newer polymer products) protects the paint from the sun so it doesn't fade or deteriorate, and from the flying grit being kicked up by the vehicles in front of yours on the highway. Polymer products wear longer than wax. And the ones purchased at auto supply stores are just as durable as the ones the car dealers charge $450 to apply.
Microfiber towels
Microfiber towels work the best on all of a car's surfaces. When you're finished using them, toss them in the washing machine. And don't use fabric softener. It can leach out of the towels and leave a residue on surfaces. These towells are so cheap now you can toss them every one or two car washes and spend 5 dollars to get another set of 5.
Keep a Microfiber towel in a ziplock and spray bottle of filtered water!
Bird droppings and bugs can damage the car's paint. Get them off as soon as possible with a damp rag or when washing the car. Sooner the better!
Small spots embedded in paint? Clay BAR Treatment!
If after washing the car, you can feel particles imbedded in the paint when you run your hand over it, you can use a clay bar system to remove the contaminants before waxing.

Mitsubishi Eclipse / Eagle Talon Custom Painted Interior Silver, DSM, 420a

Eclipse Silver Custom Painted Interior , DSM , Eagle Talon

Inside preview of how the Codename: Upgrade cars interior paint will turn out!

This obviously is not my car. I was searching pictures that google could find which is increasingly difficult as nice DSM / Eclipse / Talon cars are diminishing and are reduced to ragged out race cars that ricer kids buy simply because they can trick there parents into buying it then try to compete with new cars by overdoing just about any mod or custom install on their cars. This car is in germany I think. He actually has about the same number of panels I would paint. Though I would not paint the Vents silver and the Bezel around the Screen as that would be tacky. Its easy to over do paint.

The important factor in painting interior is to be organized AND grouped together. Painting things at random just because they are easy to pop off isnt a good strategy. Most cars today are set up so that the bottom panels are plastic and top panels like the dash in made of vinyle. Vinyle sweats and stretches when it gets hot so dont count on getting a flawless paint coat on vinyle and prepare yourself for when it peels off! Now back to those Lower Hard Plastic panels. These lower panels are made durable and can have the texture wet sanded right off leaving a good candidate for automotive grade paint, wether it is House of Kolors or PPG. My color is Frost Silver or Cool White depending on what computer you have mix it. This color in the picture is about what mine would look like except with a slight frost to it. Also as the light diminishes with nightfall the crushed diamonds in the paint stop Twinkling and you see the base color white with a slight silver hue. Notice this color is NEVER bright white and maintains a gray scale. Colors work well together IF the hues matches.

Introducing Eclipse Frost White Pearl W26B

Limited Edition 2007 Frost White Pearl Eclipse

Side view demonstrates how when OUT of the sunlight it has a silver hue

Upclose view of the silver hue in the PPG paint color

This is the car in a little bit of light. You can see how more white comes out as light hits the car. It almost has a blue hue to it. Anyways I like it. I have always ha a white car. I maye get white pearlesent but I rather have this because its different. Not everyone has frost white.

Custom Candy Red Calipers 1997 Eagle Talon / Eclipse

Jeff Ford is my powder coater

These beautiful calipers are the product of several hours of cleaning , then sand blasting, and sanding the surface to remove as much carbon deposit and flasking as possible. Flasking is the sharp jagged edges that are left after a piece of cast iron is removed from a mold. Every imperfection shows on candy red. Some imperfections even show after all that work but they wont be large enough to notice even with your face 3 feet away from them on the car. They will be coupled with these Rims in the 18" variety. The calipers came in about 2 weeks ago I just waited to make a post for them. I will probably have the drums powdercoated next.

18" 20" Motegi Chrome DP6 wheels .. will cover the Candy Red Calipers

Eagle Talon Dropped off for Suede Racing Seats to be installed

Spradleys seat install initial Review
Suede Racing Seats Install update
I dropped the car off at Spradleys, as I said two posts ago, last time they didnt have time to install the seats as they must make brackets for the seats to bolt to.
They said they need to keep it for two days, I assume they will be done by Saturday evening then. This morning at 9:30am ( Friday ) we dropped the car and seats off.
Spradleys Car stereo
East Ridge Tn 37412
Saturday, the car isnt done
Monday, the car isnt done
Tuesday , the car is done but the seats dont scoot back far enough to get my knees off the dash and feels very unsafe. As I accelerated " after paying" the seats rock forward and backward. After Looking at the install I dont actually see ANYTHING welded together. Its like its just a couple of strips with holes drilled and bolted to attach it to the floor. One peice of metal is bolted to another and then to the floor and is all flimsy like. I took it there to have brackets welded so the seats would be level and I feel Like I am riding on a seesaw. I Drive a 1997 eagle talon ( like eclipse) and installed suede rally style standard seats. I was charged 150 to install it and on the way to work all I could think of is getting my OEM seats back in the car. I am calling them on my first break. Jessie convinced me to wait some time before calling. I feel really jipped. The mad all the brackets from 1" X 1/8 IN STEEL . One strip goin from left to right on the front pair of bolts and the same on the rear. I asked If the seats can be put back farther and the guy gave me the smartass answer " Well I can put them in the back seats" . The stock seats rolled about 6-7 inches farther back than these. I need to be 5' tall to drive at this setup. Take in mind the installer it my SAME SIZE! So its not like there wasnt someone around to at least guestamate.
I hope your seats are for show only , otherwise
IF your getting seats installed they are NOT Recomended
